What is a celebrant ?

You may be wondering what is a celebrant and what do we actually do. It was a question I was asked many times upon deciding to follow this path in my life.

A Funeral celebrant is someone who can deliver or officiate a non religious ceremony for your loved one. However this doesn't mean you cannot include a hymn or a psalm within the service. After all it's your choice. 

As celebrants we like to literally celebrate a persons life. We believe that the memories and milestones in life are there to be treasured and not forgotten , after all what would you usually say about a person you knew or loved....remember that time when or remember they loved to. .....

Our valued memories are priceless and when material items perish they are the one thing we can hold onto.

I would arrange a time and a place for us to meet and chat over what you would like to include in the ceremony , which best reflects your loved one and your choices. This could also include music choices , poems and and any readings. Maybe a family member or a friend would like to say a few words. 

I don't want to say it again but it really is all about choices.
